Sean Russell (Edinboro) named EWL Wrestler of the Week

Redshirt junior Sean Russell (Lawrenceville, GA/Collins Hill) of Edinboro has been named the EWL Wrestler of the Week for the week ending December 10th. Russell won his third-straight PSAC Championship on Saturday, with a 25-10 technical fall victory in 5:58 over Aaron Wildonger of Millersville in the quarterfinals, a fall in 6:01 over Josiah Kline of Lock Haven in the semifinals, and a 19-8 major decision victory over 2017 NCAA Division II All-American Alan Diltz of Seton Hill in the championship match. With these victories, Russell ran his record to 13-2 on the season. Prior to this season, Russell was an EWL Champion and an NCAA Division I All-American in 2017, finishing seventh at 125 pounds in St. Louis, Missouri, and earning a record of 37-8 on the season. Russell also was an EWL Champion in 2015-16, with a record of 28-9, and went 18-8 in 2014-15 while redshirting and competing unattached.
